Electronics

We have standard workshop material for all of our workshops, but like to communicate with schools before workshops to understand what students already know, and what are the aims of a visit. We then can customise any workshop to best meet the schools’ needs.

Electronics and Circuits

Whether you are looking to introduce the youngest learners to the logic of coding or challenge older students with complex circuit design, our electronics workshops offer the perfect hands-on entry point. By bridging the gap between digital code and physical hardware, we help students transform from passive technology users into active creators and innovators.

Primary Workshops:

Getting Started with micro:bits

For our Primary School students, we utilize the BBC Micro:bit to make their first steps into programming both visual and tactile. The Micro:bit is a user-friendly microcontroller featuring a 5x5 LED array and built-in sensors that bring code to life instantly. Students can toggle between graphical blocks and general-purpose text languages to complete exciting challenges—like designing animated name badges, crafting virtual dice, or building a “Magic 8-Ball.” It’s an engaging way to master the basics of logic and sequence while seeing immediate, glowing results.

Secondary Workshops:

Engineering with Arduino

Our Secondary School programs level up the complexity by introducing the Arduino platform, a staple of professional prototyping and DIY engineering. These workshops dive deep into the world of circuits and electronics, teaching students how to interface code with real-world sensors and actuators. Using industry-standard hardware and software tools, students learn to wire their own circuits to flash LEDs, trigger buzzers, and control the precise movements of servo motors. It is a fantastic way to develop the technical resilience and problem-solving skills needed for future STEM careers.

Tailored to You

All of our workshops are fully customisable. Whether your students are absolute novices picking up a wire for the first time or seasoned hobbyists looking to extend their skills, we can adapt the curriculum to match their ability level and your classroom goals.
